How much hair should I order?

Use this guide to choose the right number of wefts for your client’s install, based on the length you’re adding and their natural density. When in doubt, order up. Running short mid-install is harder to fix than having a weft left over.

Our wefts at a glance

Every weft is 12″ wide and can be heat-joined to another with a flat iron or K-tip fusion iron to create a longer weft for wider rows. Longer lengths weigh more per weft.

16″15g per weft
20″20g per weft
22″22g per weft
24″25g per weft

Why you need less of our hair

Our hair is fuller gram for gram than most extensions, so these numbers run lower than what you may be used to ordering.

Double drawn

Full to the ends

Short hairs are removed, so the ends are nearly as thick as the top. No thin, wispy ends to hide.

Silicone free

Real body

Nothing coats the hair to fake softness, so the fullness you see is the hair itself, and it holds up wash after wash.

Full-cuticle Remy

Reinforced top

Cuticles stay intact and aligned, with a keratin-reinforced top for a strong, secure weft.

Full install: length + fullness

Wefts to order, with total grams, by length and your client’s natural density.

Low end of the range for a soft, natural result. High end for a full, blunt finish or when blending into thick, one-length ends. Between two numbers? Order the higher one.

Example  Medium-density client going to 20″: order 5–6 wefts (100–120g). For a fuller, blunter end, go with 6.

Not adding length?

Volume only

2–4 wefts

Their hair is already the length they want. You’re adding fullness only.

Color & dimension

1–3 wefts

Highlights or lowlights in an accent shade, placed for dimension.

Thick, blunt ends

Add 1–2 wefts

Add to the chart above so the extension ends match their density.

Mix, match & customize

Because our wefts come as individual 12″ pieces, every install can be built for the person in your chair.

Blend shades

Most installs

Very few heads of hair are one flat tone. Combine two or three shades to match natural dimension, rooting and highlights.

Add highlights

Your color, your way

Layer a lighter or brighter shade into the mix to add brightness and movement without touching their natural hair.

Build longer wefts

Heat-joined

Use a flat iron or K-tip fusion iron to bond two wefts together for a wider row, or join different shades in one row for seamless blending.

Before you order

  1. Check their ponytail. Gather it at the nape. Pencil-thin is fine, about the width of a quarter is medium, and a full handful is thick.
  2. Picture where the length will fall. Measured from the nape, 16″ lands just past the shoulders, 20–22″ at mid-back, and 24″ toward the waist.
  3. The bigger the jump, the more hair. Taking a short bob to 22″ needs more wefts than adding a few inches to hair that’s already long.
  4. Longer hair reads thinner at the same weight. 100g at 16″ looks noticeably fuller than 100g at 22″.
  5. Don’t over-install on fine hair. More rows than their hair can hide means visible tracks and extra tension. Use the fewest wefts that get the result.
  6. Plan your color before you order. Decide your base shade and any blending or highlight shades up front, then split your weft count between them.
